Subject: CD player right speaker problem IP: Logged
Message: Hi all, I have a 2003 club cab, 3.9L. Everything in this truck is stock. Just recently, whenever I start my truck after it has sat for two or more hours begin's to make tapping noices in my right front speaker. As the truck run's for about 2 minutes the tapping noises stop. The Front right speaker works fine during and after the tapping noises. Also, even if I push the volume button in to turn off the CD from playing. The tapping noises still occur.
Does anybody know what is going with my truck?
Is this a CD player problem is something else?
Thanks
Stevan

Message: Well, I had the same problem with a '98 Ram. What I did was put a plastic isolator under every mounting screw so that none of the metal of the speakers was touching any of the metal on the door.

Message: Today I tried to turn the key back one to only run the CD player and nothing happened. I turned the key forward one to start the CD player and some dash controls and it started making the tapping sound again. It also sounds like theres a tapping noise coming from behind the glove box, but this noise is very low. When I turned the key forward one it sounded like there was system starting up from behind the right door panel. Could this have anything to do with my problem.
Thanks

Message: When you turn the key forward you should hear the hum of the fuel pump kicking on.
