Subject: Cold air intake install?

Message:

I'm thinking of buying a Hughes kit. How do I get the stock air cleaner box off? The strange nut at the bottom of the box just spins and I can't find the other end of the bolt to hold it.
Also, where to get another IAT sensor(other than dealer)? Auto Zone,Advance Auto, etc. don't seem to stock it.
I want to put the sensor in the tube, close to the filter to get a true reading and leave the oem sensor in the manifold.(Right?) Don't want to get to where I can't go back to stock quickly as the truck is still under warranty and don't want to have any hassle with the dealer when I take it in.

that little nut at the bottom of the airbox will yank off with a pair of pliers, that's what i did to mine. or just tug upward on the box and pull it off, its just plastic threads. as far as the IAT sensor, check out autozone or napa, they might stock them.

Your local Auto Zone can order the iat or you can order it from AZ online like I did. I did the same thing that y0u did. I left the old one in the manifold and put the new one in the air tube.

Thanks guys, I'll check with Auto Zone locally. I've tried to find it on the AZ website but no show, at least for an '03. I wonder how far back the same sensor was used?
