Anyone know if there is a location to stick an aftermarket water
temp sender in the block or head other than the factory sender's

Yes you can try in the block drains on either
side of the block near the motor mounts look 1
on each side 1/4 npt pipe
be sure you dont hit the inner casting with the
sensor some have some casting in the way just
stick a short screw driver in the whole to be
sure its deep enough
