Subject: Ready to shoot my TRANNY! IP: Logged
Message: Could somebody please help me with my friggin tranny problem. I have a 1990 dakota ext.cab automatic, with a 3.9. Fist of all i'll let you know that the tranny is original andhas about 300,000 kms on it, but I just had to have anew throttle body put in it. But anyways the problem is that when you start out the first and seconds gears makes this loud roraing noise, and it doesnt leave until you get into the third gear. I have no idead why it would be doind this. I have heard that dodge made some crappy tranny's around those years. Any suggestions, or has anybody else had this happen???

Message: Is the roaring coming from the tranny for sure? The fan clutch could be sticking and causing that... not sure though. I'd think if it were gonna hang up that long, it'd stay stuck so that may not be even remotely close.

Message: just because you replaced it does not mean that it is not the cause of your roaring noise. the only time I have EVER heard a roaring noise from a dodge truck was from the fan.
