Message: Has anyone had this problem? The top of the canister on my pollution control keeps burning of the hoses. Someone told me that there is charcoal build up in the canister. I was wandering if I replace it, well that solve all the problems or could there be something else I should look for?
As well I was wandering if there are any mods that you can do to the pollution control to improve performance!!! Thanks for any advice!!

Message: There's supposed to be charcoal in it, thats why they call it a charcoal canister. As for why it's burning hoses, i have seen engines do that when they have a plugged catalytic convertor, but there are other possibilities.
There's no way to modify it to get more power. All of your pollution controls, evap, egr, etc, shut off at wide open throttle.

Message: So I should take a look in the cat to see if theres any debree? My cat. has been gutted. Its just there for looks. Could that be the problem?
I forgot to mention that the charcoal canister has also melted itself, right where the hose hooks onto it. If its not the cat. what else could it be? thanks
