Subject: O2-Larry ? IP: Logged
Message: 95 Dak 3.9 - when does O2 need change ?
Have just over 100,000 mi. , perf and mpg don't
seem to suffer .
But they say O2 only good for 60 to 80 thou ?
If I change it soon , will mpg improve
especiaaly enough to recover its cost in
Lower fuel usage at these Prices ??

Message: If it's still working, there's no use replacing it...well unless you like preventative maintenance. Sometimes they'll last a lot longer. You're not gonna suddenly gain a bunch of mileage by replacing it unless it's no longer functioning correctly though.

Message: If you get the same performance and gas mileage as always, and you pass emissions, it's working fine and it's a waste of money to replace it. My first one lasted 190K miles, then failed suddenly. I used a Bosch replacement, and 43K miles later, still fine, despite peoples' poor opinions of them.

Message: Yes on some vehicles including the dodge trucks
they can last forever
Than the next guy like me 60,000 on my first and
it started throwing codes.
If you notice a sharp drop in gas mileage and poor
performance its time to replace it and have a good
shop scan and check all the sensors just 1 bad
can make your truck run like crap
