 Subject: RPM Flare?

Hi All--

I have a 2001 v6, 3.9L auto, with 42000 miles on it. This weekend, I started to get a RPM flare when I put the truck in either drive or reverse. It seems to flare about 700 rpms, then it goes back down. Any idea on what could be causing this?
