Message:
I got checked my trucks codes by counting flashes, I am getting a few different codes,
12
45
32
17
then the standard 55

What could be causing them? Any sugesstions. I no the 32 is EGR, but I read it could just be the Air/Fuel Ratio, If that is the case, it may just be my O2 sensor. I think 17 is engine Temp, I have no idea what 45 is.

FYI, its a 93 V6 5spd.

45* Trans OD
solenoid circuit Transmission OD solenoid circuit failure. Open or short in the transmission overdrive solenoid circuit.
May be " dirty " connector ?
32 is EGR solenoid failure
May be connection ??
Otherwise you need a new EGR valve/solenoid
- comes as package--

45 Turbo boost limit exceeded (engine was shut down by logic module)

This doesn't seem to make sense for your vehicle, either. Are you sure it's 45?

32 (1990-92, all but Turbo) computer didn't see change in air/'fuel ratio when EGR activated - check valve, vacuum lines, and EGR electrical

17 Engine stays cool too long (bad thermostat or coolant sensor?)

It was definatly 45, I checked it 3 times cause I didn't believe it.

You said 32 was for 90-92 non-turbo, but mine is a 93, same motor as the 92 Kota's though. The 32 would come up twice in a row, don't know if that makes a difference. Would a bad EGR cause any symptoms to the truck? When its first started, it will rev up to about 700rpm (normal)but then drop down to 100 rpm. Most of the time it will save itself and go back up to normal. Only once has it stalled. After it goes back to normal, there are no idle problems, its only at the start-up. Also, gas mileage has just dropped a little. I was getting 21-23 now getting 17-19 could a bad O2 sensor cause the bad startup idle? or trip code 32?

CHANGE EGR = IT DOES THAT..............
45 probably refers to " measured performance "
at speed
Again problem is EGR = CHANGE IT...........

How hard is it to change the EGR? What are the steps involved? I have never played with one before and don'et know much about it.

Very simple. Disconnect vacuum hose, undo two bolts holding the valve on, unplug electrical connnection to transducer, lift away the old valve and transducer, reverse process with new one, installing new gasket that comes with it underneath it. While the old one is off, inspect opening for carbon. If blocked, spray carb cleaner and/or run a wire brush into opening. If very bad, replace EGR tube - it unbolts.

I have a two wd 94 'kota with 3.9 and 5 spd. At one point I got
a code (sorry I don't recall the number) that the dealer said was
erroneous! He said it was a 4x4 code of some kind then
charged me $60 for diagnosis and code cancel! I love Mopars
but that was ridiculous - more like some bullsh1t Fraud I mean
Ford would do.
