Message: Hey Justin, when ever you buy plugs from any auto parts store the plugs are usually not gapped, when she looked them up on the computer she was probably just finding the right plug for the 3.9l engine, i bought a set of plugs for my 2000 quad and they did the same thing to me at my parts store too, the truck will run okay but you will get crappy mileage and harder starting at least that is what i found anyhow.

Message: Having your plugs not gapped will probably in the long run, decrease your fuel mileage and your overall performance, i would check with your parts store, places like walmart would not gap the plugs but if you went to a good place they might have already done it, i would find out where you bought them from if they were gapped already or not.

Message: Sorry man unless you from Edmonton alberta Canada then maybe but i doubt it, i actually talked to a buddy of mine and he say's you are goining to get nothing but problems in the long run if those plugs were not gapped, he say's that your vehicle might back fire, stall, screw up your timing but not by much, get crappy fuel economy and burn out the life quickly from those plugs but like i said before, you might have lucked out and got ones that were gapped already, but who knows.

Message: Well for starters if you attempted to change the plugs yourself you are on the right track already! when you intall spark plugs you are supposed to tighten them with a spark plug socket wrench, not to tight that you can't get them out, because if you tighten them to tight and you can't get them out, you will have to have them drilled out wich is what you don't want, but tight enough and then a quarter turn back i hope you can understand what i mean, but hey, age has nothing to do with it, it's good to see that you are trying
