Message: Should i be using the AP3923's or just the regular 3923's. I have timing advance mod, K&N, 180 thermo, brass cap & rotor. I've got the AP's in right now and gapped at .045 and it just dont seem quite right. .040 didnt feel good either. Where's Larry anyway? Also, can different oil filters have an affect on how the engine runs like better or worse. I swear mine runs worse now. Tried purulator oil filter from the Fram oil filter and seems different for the worse. Does anyones heater core gurgle after you shut the truck off, what the hell is that?

Message: Well at least as far as oil filters are concerned I would say (from what I've read) the Baldwin's and Amsoil (made by Baldwin) are pretty good then there are the Mobil 1s which are pricey and Wix and Napa filters are good. Most except the pricey Frams aren't good.

Message: purulator = cheap crap - made in Mexico
Get one of above recommended .
How long ago did you do last mod ?
Computer needs time/miles to adjust to " new "
situations ..
Are you sure is heater core ' gurgling ' ?
If is = Not normal
possible air in system = need to purge

Message: Oil filter will not effect performance
Be sure all your sensors are working properly
free scan auto zone
Did you do all these changes at the same time or
just change the plugs, posible bad wires
Girgle sounds like you have air traped in the
system, start and warm to operating temp with
cap removed and than let it cool down and than
check the level this will let the traped air
exscape
You may not have improved the intake side enough
to drop to a colder plug yet
Try again after bigger TB and or 1.7 rollers,
once you get a bigger charge into the cyls the
colder plugs will than show the benifits
go back to either the AP3924 or 5224 extended
gap at .045 that may be the solution, not all
trucks react good to the colder plug until more
mods are done

Message: well originally i did the AP3923 colder plugs for the timing advance cause of pinging. Also put the 180 thermo in for pinging. Have not indexed yet, sounds like a pain and everywhere i've been said they never heard of an indexing kit. My TPS sensor was off. I had it set around .72 and it dropped back to about .65, guess it was enough to mess up the way the truck was running. Now, today i got my flowmaster 50 series on and the truck is pinging again! Must be from the muffler. Is there a break in period for the computer as well as the muffler? I'm gonna gap plugs at .45 again, i liked them at .40 better cause the truck felt more responsive. But if .45 stops the pinging that is better. I'm done with mods for now. don't have the money for the TB or rockers. I may consider an intake but think the K&n drop with ram air into the air box is sufficient enough for now. This is probly it, oh yeah and probly wires. So if the Ap3923's dont sound good let me know. I need to know where i can get some wires cause the idiots around here cant seem to get me a set. I told them for either the 4.7 or 5.9 and i would just custom fit for the V6. If you have part numbers that would be even better. Accel, MSD, Taylor, etc. I know these are pricey but you get what you pay for.
