Word of warning. My seal on my 90 Dakota fried on the way to work. All the differential fluid drained and within 30 miles my diff. disentigrated. Might be a good thing to check on older vehicles. Cost me $1200 for a rebuilt.

Fried or fell out? Those stupid rubber plugs are not that great, why didn't Mopar put a metal screw on type in? Mine leaks a bit, but is always full when I check it, thanks for the reminder, may have to get a new one, hate to lose the rearend because it didn't have $2.00 worth of fluid in it.

Oh, the diff seal, just re-read the post, not the stupid rubber check plug, my bad. Around the check plug is is only place I see a wet on my diff.
