Subject: NEED HELP----check gauges light IP: Logged
Message: Anybody have any ideas what could be causing this? It comes on and off, at no specific time. It does however seem to happen more when I am not moving. (stop light) I had this problem before I put it away for the winter, and it's been nice out so I took it for a spin, and it happened again. Yesterday nothing, today about 6 times in a 2 hour span? Any help/thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated. As a side note, anybody notice that "guages" is spelled "gages" in the 99 daks? Anyways, thanks!

Message: Only time I've had it come on when it was supposed to. When my ytemp gauge was like in the red. Turns out faulty thermostat made the gauge go wack or something like that.

Message: I imediately looked at my gauges the first time it happened ( as well as all others), and there has been nothing out of the ordinary. Has anybody else had this problem or is it just me? Thanks again!!

Message: try reseting your pcm. and see if it will go away. i have a scanner but you live 1500 miles from me so i really don't know too much.
a question off of that topic. is that the sunroof that comes with the dak (it has the installer tag on the inside of the door jam)? if so if you look in your fuse panel there is some wires for the sunroof....my problem is there was something between the fuse and the wire (like a resistor or something) that would keep the motor from running when the roof is completely opened or closed. i am missing that and was wondering if you could see what it is because the dealer has no idea around here.
thanx

Message: I tried resetting the PCM today. It came back on after that. Do you know where I could get a scanner? I tried doing the test where you hold in the trip reset button and it scans, I got no error codes?? As far as the sunroof, it is an aftermarket, so I'm sorry I can't help you on that.

Message: Is it possible that sitting for a long time could cause this to happen? I have been driving it now for a while and it hasn't happened. I had it parked for about 3 months (started once a week for 5 minutes), but other than that it got no regular use. The thing is though I didn't have this problem last winter. Any ideas?
