Do the 19 lb/hr injectors really make that big of a differance? And what lb/hr are the injectors in a 1997 3.9 v6? I am looking to buy some new ones, and I wanted to know if anyone had any experience with the Bosch Ford 19 lb/hr injectors.

I bought those Bosches from fiveomotorsports.com You have
the 19lb/hr injectors. I noticed a smoother idle, even quieter at
the tail pipe and smoother acceleration. Not to mention the fact
that my truck is five years old and I felt like putting better ones
on anyway. Our stock injectors are a one hole spray model, the
Bosch is a four hole spray model. Factory injectors are within
15% flow rate of each other (accounts for roughness) and the
Bosch I believe are within 4% of each other. Just call Bruce tell
him what you got he'll get you the right part. They were $180 I
think and I got them the next day in the mail.

I put the 19# FMS injectors in my 97 V6 at the same time I put in my V8 TB. Made a big difference. Well worth the money and time

The 02's use a different connector and are 21lbs. FiveOMotorSports can fix you up a good set for the cost of a dealer cleaning. Good luck.

shame on you putting ford parts on a dodge, you cross breeed, lol j/k just rember if you are looking for power its the way to go but say bye bye to fuel economy. four hole smean more fuel which means more air which mean more consumtion calibrated by the ecu/pcm

I was looking at changing my injectors to the ones from FiveOMotorsport. How much more power can be expected? I have heard that not too much. What about MPG? Would I lose MPG? I heard that you would increase slightly because more holes allows for a better spray, but allowing more fuel also makes sence. Thanks for any help in advance.

The Ford injectors have 4 holes for better atomization of the fuel, are built to higher standards, are matched to within 2% of flow characteristics per injector, and have a more accurate regulation from the ECU. As from higher fuel consumption, that is more of a function of the right foot on the accelerator. Hope this helps dispel any myth about the FMS injectors not being good in a Dakota. Good luck.

That does help, but is it worth the $180? I have other things i want to do besides injectors, but should these injectors be higer on my list? Cold air intake, Flowmaster 40 series, power programmer. Was going to do TB and Headers next then injectors. Would these Injectors give me more "noticable power?" ('98, 3.9, 54K) What are the pros and cons? I want to get every HP out of my engine without having to give it a Supercharger (I drive this car everyday). Any ideas for more power are accepted. Thanks.

You are right, unless you have an injector problem, you don't need to change them yet. A dealer cleaning will cost more than $150.00, so new injectors would be better buy. Put headers off too. Not much gain for the pain. Add roller rockers to your list. They are a good source of power. Maybe a different set of gears in the rear end. That can be instant fun. Hope this helps.Good luck.
