Subject: Couple of cooling ??'s IP: Logged
Message: I am thinking about getting a trans cooler for my truck cause I know how bad our tranny's are and Heat is pretty bad for them, but how much more fluid would I need?
Would an oil cooler help out anything? If so what?
I am going to get an electric fan soon, I was wondering what would be the best one to get. I was thinking of either a Flex-a-Lite or permacool. But which one and how big and all the stuff?
I have never heard of anything for this but I will throw it out anyway, Is there anyway to cool of the exhaust a little bit?
And if you can think of anything else that would help out by cooling please let me know.
Thanks,
Josh

Message: Well I bought the black magic 150 which is the best size for the 97-99 Dakotas and probably up as well. I'm not happy at all with the thermostat unit, I've gone through three of them (and many calls to tech support) and still can't make it automatically come on when I want to. What I have to do is just turn on the fan in the passenger compartment and then the radiator fan will kick in. Other than that and having to fabricate a couple brackets to mount it with it's a simple install.
