Subject: is an 87 fit for the open road? IP: Logged
Message: hello I need quick info before I hit the road. is a 1987 Dodge dakota 3.9l V6 727 torque Flite 3-speed trans.w/ 225/15 tires and a 3.23 rear end. I kind of scared to drive it 75 or over because of the 3-speed trans. at what rpm does the engine run at 80 mph.
p.s. here are the ratios of the 727 torque Flite
1st 2.45.1
2nd 1.40.1
3rd 1.00.1
I'm thankful for any help

Message: I don't think the 3.9 came with a 727. I think you have an A500.

Message: if it,s a 87,it,s a 904

Message: 904's don't have the lock up torque converters but the 727 and the 909 torque flite have them I'm sure it's a 727 b/c it has lock-up torque converter and I was told it had a 727. but it should almost run the same rpm's as the 904 right?
