Subject: 1/4 mile times? IP: Logged
Message: I took my 1993 Dakota 4X4 3.9L EC out tonight to check the quarter mile times with a G-Tech Pro. My best time was 18.1 @ 79.7 MPH. My mods include a ported and teflon coated TB, Dynomax Superturbo muffler, Magnecor wires, and Mobil 1.
What times have the rest of you gotten from your Dakotas?

Message: Oh yeah, I forgot, I have a 180 thermostat and a K&N also. I agree another Mark, it is depressing. I used to run low 14's in my modified Cadillac STS but the Dakota is nothing like it. Adam, that is a pretty good time. Hopefully I can get a time like that someday. Hater, I was asking for 1/4 mile times not stupid ass comments.
I was told quite a while back that my belly pan gasket was leaking so I'm sure that is hurting performance also. I'm not sure if this would make a difference in performance but my timing chain has the notorious rattle pretty bad. I am going to replace it with the Hughes Engines timing kit soon.

Message: Last year sent home a field of imports on street trophy night with 16.15. Broke out against a ram and lost with a 16.14, it was getting cooler as it got dark outside. Modifications included V8 t.b., Mopar performance ECU, 1.7 roller rockers and a modified dual snorkel air cleaner housing. The truck is a standard cab short bed with 3.55 powertrax and an automatic trans. on stock steel wheels and street tires.
