Message: O2 simms are more for when you remove the
cat/s , i.e. dragstrip conversion.

Message: Do you have to get emissions checked in your
locality ?
Second O2 sensor checks cat efficiency.
Maybe cat is getting bad ?
Sim is probably just a resistor, which would give
computer a constant signal to stop codes..
cat or no cat..would not know the diff..

Message: dont have to get emmisions checked, but think the o2 is failing. Any idea of the resitor that is needed to trick the pcm into running its best?

Message: i don't think the sim gives a constant reading as the o2 sensor constantly flips between .001 to .9 hook up a scanner to your truck and see for yourself
if you gave the pcm a constant value it would think the o2 was bad and the MIL would come on

Message: The o2 sims were created for emmisions reasons. People would gut their cat, then fail emmisions for a bad cat, OBD 2 especially. The 02 sensor after the cat is there to measure the effiency of the cat and if its working properly, and if its reading is the same as the pre-cat o2 sensor, or its out of its parameters then its telling the computer your cat is not working how it should. too make a long story short, just put another o2 sensor in it and dont mess with the simm . The simm was made to help people with gutted cats pass emissions.
