 Subject: V6 Hesitation and poping noise

I have 2002 V6 3.9 4X4 dakota with about 27,000 miles on it. I just started having a Hesitation problems followed with a banging popping sound around 20 to 50 so miles an hour. the truck sounds like it misfiring and feels powerless. I shut off the engine and take it out of gear and the problems goes away. this happened 3 time in the last 2 months I checked the engine everything seems fine, and the engine light does not even come on it a strange. I had a 94 Dakota 3.6 with Manual trans with 100,000
and never once did i ever have a problem like this . I was wondering if any one else had a similar problem or a fix

Have you tried the key on,off,on,off,on
trick , either " engine light "
should flash codes or , if digital speedo
may see codes.
One way or other , better do something
quickly .
It will blow cat or muffler as is.

Isn't it under warranty yet? Let the morons at the dealer worry about it. I know that is not very encouraging but at least you won't pay for it. When my truck is out of warranty, it will never ever again see the dealer, they are rip offs but make em' pay while its still in warranty.
