Message:
The oil pressure gauge on my '03 3.9l seems to be nothing more than a glorified idiot light.
The reading never changes so I assume it only means that I do have oil pressure but no indication of how much at idle or at speed. The needle stays straight up all the time when the engine is running.
Question: In order to get a true reading, would I have to change the gauge or sender? If changing the sender would work, which sender do I need and where can I get one?

Message: Mopar oil and filter (new truck). The needle stays straight up at idle and at any other rpm, hot or cold.
I had an '94 Mazda B-4000 that did the same thing and it was just not a true pressure guage, just an idiot light in disguise.
