Subject: Heat in Cab IP: Logged
Message: Has anyone else run into this? My '02 CC from day one has done this. In the summer when the engine heats up, I obviously have the fan turned off and the temperature dial all the way counter clockwise, yet I still get heat venting from the defroster or vent that is selected. It feels like heat from the engine that is not properly ported or problems with the firewall. I've had it into the dealer twice and both times the idiots have claimed that "the heater operations are normal." I should let them drive in 90 degree weather with it makes them want to hurl.

Message: Sounds like there is a vacuum malfunction on the temperature dial. Does the air come out the proper port all the time?

Message: Are you getting this at low,low speeds
or on highway ?
If only @ low,low - air intake is roughly
centred just in front of windshield , behind
all that engine heat .
Not too much you can do now
180 therm might help you a little ?

Message: I've seen things like this a couple of times before. Try turning the fan on and switching the vents to recirculate the air in the cab. Wait a few seconds and turn the fan off. It seems to have worked for my previous cars, but I haven't tried it in my '04 Dak.

Message: Also possible that the heat door stuck under the dash. If the above doesn't work, try to get under there and manipulate it.

Message: I have the same problem with my 02 club cab. Heat out of the vents, always considerably warmer than the outside air. I was planning on taking it back before the warranty runs out, but I think its probably just the way these things are. Now I have another problem with water pooling up in the passenger side floorboard when I run the AC or defroster. Any body else have thi problem?

Message: I had the same problem with water pooling up on the passenger floor. It was the AC evacuator. Instead of dumping the water out of the truck, it ran down the inside wall and ended up on the floor. The dealer fixed the problem and replaced my carpet under warranty.

Message: my 97 non air has a simular problem, but the hot air comes out the vent under the dash with the heater control on "off"...so I stuff an old sock in it when its warm out.
