I have a 95 Dakota, 3.9. my question is, when my fuel is at a certain level (half or below) the engine acts like it is running out of gas..i e...hesitating, sputtering and so on. but when i keep the fuel level over half it runs just fine. any ideas? i have been told it could be my fuel pressure regulator which is in the tank (thanks dodge!)which would be expensive to repair....help?

thanks

I have the same issue with My 89 Dak
I have had this happen before and the filter in the tank had become varnished

If I ran a couple of quarts of xylene through my system, would that help any?

Try a new Mopar gas cap first, its a cheap possibility.
Pressure building up can cause that problem, caps are vented.

Good luck, Scott
