Subject: is the 95 ECM same as 92? IP: Logged
Message: I just purchased a 95 Dakota off ebay and trusted the dealer that the truck ran well. (foolish me) It runs quite rough and sets the MIL. I dont wanna talk about the coolant leak! there are plenty of trouble codes (21 & 52) but I'd like to see the datastream off the O2 sensor. I have an older OTC OBDI scan tool but only with software up through 92. When I connect it to the 95, it doesn't behave correctly. so either the 92 & 95 ecms are different or I have a bad ECM. does anyone know? Also, if the truck runs rough and rich, is it more likely a bad O2 sensor or is the O2 sensor simply a victim?

Message: Sounds like the engine running rough and rich is due to a bad 02 sensor... replace that and see if it fixes most of the running problems.

Message: the map will make it run rich and rough,so won,t the temp sensor
they say the performance pcm for the 92-93s will work on 94-95s,so if the performance pcm works the stock should

There is nothing wrong with the comp
And yes any 92 to 95 comp will run on any 92 to 95
truck
Yes the diagnostics are a little diff the autoxray
obd1 scanner will read the system whether its set
to 92 93 94 or 95 I have tried that just less
info on the older comps will be desplayed
No open closed loop
No trans temp

Message: Does it matter what size of engine the dodge dakota has? Will a 92 V6(3.6) ecm work on a 92 V8(5.2)?
