Subject: K&N Replacement IP: Logged
Message: I am looking to put in a K&N air filter, replacement. Wouldn't it make sense to just replace the existing filter and remove the intake tube before the box? That allows air flow straight to the box and eliminaates the restriction of the tube. Does anyone think there is a problem doing it this was. It looks to me to very similiar to the performance kits, just without the alum tube. Thanks a lot.

Message: I have a 2000 dak and I took out the tube in front of the box and it seems like I got some more high end power. And I hope to soon be getting my K&N drop in.

Message: I removed the inlet tube and used a 4" dust collector adaptor from Lowes to increase the opening port. Attached 4" heavy flex tubing a run it beside the radiator to another 4" adaptor. This makes a poor mans cold air ram. The parts are in the tool section near the saws.
