Subject: 96 3.9 engine mods? IP: Logged
Message: Man...you guys are some serious gear heads here...I've had my 96 dak for about 7 years now..3.9m /5 speed.I absolutely love it.I have a custom paint job, stillen lower air dam, roll pan, 17's blah blah blah...and a 2000.00 interior job on the truck...only engine mods are timing chain tensioner (lol) from the ticking, high flow cat w/ 40 series 1in/2out FM with 2.5 pipe out the back in duals w/3 inch tips, and a 14x3 K&N with the filter lid, I want more power...remember hearing something a while ago about re-locating intake air temp sensor and adjusting tps to something or another for better performance...anyone know what the adjustment for the TPS is supposed to be to help... not a dodge mechanic, but very mechanicallly inclined...any help on other mods would be appreciated..like the 1.7 rr idea....

Message: Bigger throttle body,
fastman or F&B
1.7 rockers
relocating the IAT incoming air temp sensor on
some trucks will be noticeable, its just one of
those mods you need to try because all trucks
react diferant to it. reading colder air will
advance timing and add more fuel.
With the 14X3 just drill a 1/2 hole in the bottom
about 6" from body and screw it in be sure you
put a 1/4 NPT plug in the hole you remove it from
if you locate in the right spot the wires will
also reach
if it don't work out well just put a dab of
silicon on the 1/4 pipe plug and screw it in the
hole you made in the bottom of the air cleaner
and relocate it back to intake manifold
I wired up 2 on a switch manifold or grill mounted
one when its over 50 out reading under 50 degrees
will give you a code IAT voltage to high
The TPS on the 96 .7 to .75 is what to shoot for
will give you better throttle response
