Subject: Larry, gotta quick ? for ya. IP: Logged
Message: I know you are a BB guy, too, and I was wondering if you had any spare parts. I am not really needing any. I just want to start collecting parts for next winter. So, my question is; do you have any spare 440 parts? I.E. steel crank or rods or both.
I've got the 6.6 going good right now but this winter I am gonna make it into a 452 7.4 Lt. Like I said, I am not in any hurry, just shopping around. If you dont have anything right now, let me know if you come across anything that you dont need.
Thanx.
6.6 Lt. Big Block, 727 TF shift kit, 452 heads, edelbrock 750 cfm, .513/.513 284/300 crower cam, comp cams springs, comp cams pushrods, 1.5 roller rockers, dp intake, mopar ignition, mopar windage tray, dual exhaust w/ 40 series flowmasters, 4.10 gears, coilover drag suspension, approx, 3500 lbs

Message: 513/.513 284/300 crower cam
little hot there humm better have other than stock
converter in the 727 the trans itself will handle
it with ease.
Mopar M1 intake would run nice primary jets
around 72
dual exhaust w/ 40 series
will here ya coming, use some tails it will rap
real nice 2 1/2 will be about right
Drop a six pack 3 500 holleys and let it breath
1500cfm LOL you cam will take advantage of it
should run strong up to 6000 6500 rpm
My 69 road runner 383 six pack 284/284 .500/.500
is running 550 rwhp and has done 10.02 1/4 at
135mph, 11 to 1 comp alm heads flow nice big tube
440 headers
I used to drive this thing daily on the street

Message: LOL!
right now i am just using a 2.25" exhaust because of the stock manifolds i am using. When i build my headers for this thing, i am gonna use probably 2.5" exhaust with another kinda muffler. The flows sound really good with a big block mopar.. never heard such a sweet sound. I do have tailpipes on it right now.. or at least 2.5' down pipes.
The cam does pretty good with the converter i have because of the short tire and 4.10 gears. Traction is limited severely.
Right now i am gonna keep the intake combo i have because of the crappy compression. Right now the crank, rods, pistons are all stock so 8.2:1 at best. I am still trying to decide if i wanna go stroker or just raise the compression on the 400.. either way, some things have to change.
My goal wasnt to build as much power that i could, but to get around 300 hp and 400 tq and keep it very streetable. Some say i should be pretty damn close and after driving it around, my butt agrees.
If i do stroke the motor, i am gonna go probably all out and port/polish the heads, maybe switch to a roller cam/lifters and just give her hell.
thanx for the tips larry!
