i bought my truck back in may of 2002 Dakota quadcab 3.9L ... when i drove it off the lot it had 9kms on it... at 1200kms i had to have the lifters replaced... and then agian at 5000... then at 6800kms i had the whole valve train redone... all covered under warranty.. and from day one i've had this weird stalling problem like every fews months it goes it spurts and stalls alot then it stops... so since day one my dakota has been a peice of sh*t it now has 53000kms on it and the lifters are still noisy... and i'm going through arbitration to try and get daimler/chrysler to buy the damn thing back... anyone else encounter problems like this????

I drove my 03, std cab, 4x, 3.9 5sp, SXT off the lot with 50mi on it. Front shocks failed at 13k and again at 13,500mi. Clutch has always been difficult to use. (30 yrs experence of driveing sticks).Truck bounces out of controll over irregular roads, lifters noisey on occasion, everything is now rustey underneath, dead spot just off idle. noisey powersteering. At 14kmi I dont want it any more.

The front shocks will fail again I'm sure. Dealer said he's never heard of this problem before. has no clue why. I want my money back if they do.

Hey guys,

Go to any other car or truck site (any brand).

You're gonna see the same complaints.

EVERYBODY MAKES A LEMON ONCE IN A WHILE!

My 2001 Dakota has 120,000km without ever needing anything more than regular maintenance. Still starts and runs like new! (I probably just jinxed myself, but what the hell). It's been a great truck.

For people that have lemons, you gotta hound the manufacturer (forget about the dealer) to death right from the start. It's the only way you'll ever get satisfaction.
