Message: I have a 91' dodge dakota 4x4 V6 EFI.Most the time it starts with no problems and runs fine. However there are times I get in it and it will turn over but not start. If I cut key off and keep trying it will eventually start and run fine once started.Do you think it could be the engine computer? Is the computer on the passenger fender?Does this truck have a ignition module on it? Could this be the prob? If so where is it located? Please Help!! All advice appreciated!!

Message: Chuck, before you try replacing the comuter check your electrical connections. The computer is located on the passenger side of the vehicle i believe.
Take the connection off the computer, clean with rubbing alcohol and qtips , put on some dielectrical grease and replace.
Also, on the drivers side there should be a fuse box. look at the wiring below this. You will probably have to unwrap it. Check for corroded wires here, if you find them take them apart and resolder them back together.
These repairs won't cost much money, just time, and if it's not this at least you'll have narrowed your search.

Message: It could also be a bad relay. Since it is so intermitent it does not sound like the computer.
