Hey larry i just got my 1999 3.9L 4x4 dakota today and i also order a K&N intake for it
57-1509 for it because i want it to get better gas milage and some more power. do you know if i will have to mod it at all or will it bolt right up. also how much power will i gain with it. thank larry

need larry for these questions, leave the dude alone for the minor stuff. it will bolt right up. the onyl trhing u may have to mod is the cruiz control but otherthen that ur all set have fun

Keith, as u dont said this will be a nice mod but while you have the intake off clean up the throttle body. Take the AIS out of the throttle body and clean it with throttle body cleaner. Also at this time check your dist. cap and rotor for wear and replacement. As well as the wires and plugs.

It will fit with very little modding to the unit
it will just sit in a little diff position by
just bolting it on the mount will be a little
differant

The 5.2 shows a 10.7 hp gain so just remove
25% about a 5 to 8 hp gain better throttle
response and they will help gas mileage 1 to 2mpg

The cold air is the first thing to do on these
trucks

After the cold air is on try a set of autolite
AP3923 at .045

Next would be a bigger throttle body
