Message: Yeah, you will... if you want duals, stick with a single 2.5" in/dual out muffler (not positive if max output size is 2" or 2.25"). By doing that, you should keep your low-end torque.

Message: if ya want true duals, then this is whati recomend you do. first build up the intake side of ur motor, like a tb,and a cai, then for a exhaust i would run two dual 2 inch pipes from the MANIFOLDS (i would not run headers) back both with cats and i would throw a x pipe mid way threw the pipe before the cats. then what ever 2 mufflers u want and pipe it out the back

Message: don't put TRUE dual exhaust on a v-6 unless you want to lose a
crap load of power the 6 is an anemic engine already why drive
down its performance you are going to wind up with a truck that
sounds like two 3 cylinder engines going down the road

Message: When I rebuilt the transmission in my 91 I had to chop off the exhaust... I didnt wanna spend alot of money on another exhaust system because of a soon motor swap I was going to do, which would force me to cut the exhaust again... So for a temporary system, I set up true duals running no cats, and only two Cherry Bomb Turbo 2 mufflers... It sounds awesome at idle, but it sucked away alot of power, and sounds like a honda at high rev. But, I'll fix that soon. ;)

Message: i have an 89 with a 3.9V6 and i ran a 2.25" pipe from the catalytic converter and then put a y-pipe on just before the gas tank and went up to 2.5" pipes after that without a muffler. it sounds good and didnt hurt the power, which i have found to be making quite a bit of after a few aftermarket parts.
