I have the original Goodyear Eagle LS tires on my truck (P255/65R15). They are shot. I have 53000 miles on 99 2WD V-6. Can anyone suggest a better replacement tire ? I don't race. I just drive.
thanks,
ken

I would say wal-mart is a good place to buy a street tire they also have a nice lookin mud tire made by goodyear its the super sport, But really wal-mart has prices that you really cant beat beleive it or not, With that warrenty they offer it makes them one of the best places around i think.

I looked at wal-mart. They got a Douglas Performance GT - size P255/70/R15 made by Kelly Springfield. The are about 67.00 a piece. anyone ever try these tires ? Next week I will try a set of these. I'm not paying 135.00 a piece for those Eagle LS tires.

I got the Goodyear Wrangler RT/S's and I HATE them! I bought 5, had 3 flats, and 2 were unrepairable. They have been the worst tires I ever bought.

Bemoore, The liberator all terrain is not made by BFG, Its made my Michelin ! And its a very good tire for the price i had 4 of them put on my truck before i got the dunlop mud rovers and they were nice tire cost little under 380.00 on the truck. Only had them on for about 3000 miles then wanted a mud tire, But alot of guys that i work with went with them when they seen the price and love'em.

I switched to Pirelli Scorpion Zero's
255/65/15. Tire Rack has them for $87 ea. They are my Summer tires they aren't very good in snow BUT
they are excellent in the rain and on dry roads.

I have been having great luck with the
coopers, uniroyal and BFGoodrich tires

They hold up well last long and no sliped belts
or sidwall probs like others including good year

If you live where there is snow and mud the cooper
Discover ST is a great tire, don't slide around
on ice and snow excellent off road traction in
snow and mud.

I have 20,000 on this set and they still look like
new and grab the meassy roads around here
fantastic unlike the good years I tried in the past

Lets put it this way 2 years ago I got stuck with
a set of good year A/T or whatever they were

Last 2 years 7' snow this year unplowed roads
and 4 wheeling have not been stuck in 2 years
these ST tires surprized me and a few others
who were with me,

Pulling a jeep back to the shop glare ice with
a dusting of fresh snow on top did in 2 wheel
drive the tires have amazing traction on any
surface they are the best I have ever ran in 35
years or more of driving pickup trucks

If your really into off road check out the STT
was just a little to radical for me

I replaced the original Wrangler RT/S with a set of BFG Long Trail Radials at about $150 CAN per tire. P265/70R16
I've been pleased with both sets to be honest.
