Subject: 2000, Dakota, 6, auto..... IP: Logged
Message: I have been reading the info on this borad for about 2 months and I must say there is good stuff coming out of here.
I have a 2000 Dakota, 6, auto, 62,000 miles, bed cover and installed a drop in K&N filter (on seeing the talk about them from here, and I sure could see the differance towing a snowmobile trailer)
Just did a mileage check today and I am getting 19.857 MPG.... Not bad for Mpls/ St.Paul, MN driving....
My "next move" is to get-
Robert Shaw 180 T-stat
Autolite 3923's…..040………
And dist and rotor (brass) I think Wagner, but did not cut and paste the name brand
8mm wires
Amsoil Universal Synthetic ATF
Amsoil rear end fluid
I Enjoy reading all the info on this board...
Thanks,
Ronder
PS. what do U think of my "next move"?

Message: I just did the drop-in K&N also. There is a little more power. What I'd do also is drill out the front of the cold air intake flange at the grill. Stock is for it to draw air through a small slot top and bottom, probably to minimize debris. Drilling out the front gives a straighter air intake path, as well as more air.
