Ive had this nagging problem for a couple months now. First thing in the morning...turn the key...NOTHING... no sound...nothing....turn the key again...NOTHING...turn the key again and it fires up like nothing was wrong. It is starting to do this when I get off work in the afternoon now also. I have replaced the battery,$75.00 had the altenator checked out, replaced the belt tensioner(mechanic thought the belt was loose and not charging the battery)$180.00 did a tune up myself..plugs, wires, distributer cap, rotor, pcv valve $50.00 but it would not fire again this morning. Took seven turns of the key to get it to go. When it did go it fired right up. Lights came on but the motor did not want to turn over. Does this sound like a bad starter or maybe the starter solinoid? I need some ideas here. The problem is intermitent and only will do it about once a week so I'm afraid to take it to a shop for fear they will not find anything and yet still charge me $$$$$$.

Thanks for any help,
tbman

i've heard some people talk about a problem in the wiring harness about 8" down from the fuse box on the drivers side, under the hood...it's a bad/corroded splice. it caused the same problems you seem to be having...
