Does anyone else have a Torque Converter in their truck??? If I go to brake torque and I hold the brake and the gas down my RPM's wont go past 1600 because of that damn thing! It makes it hard to smoke my tires and get my 3.92 posi rear end turning ....with out the help of a little Tire Shine on the ground. ;-)

Well that is kind of weird... If I "Tromp" on the gas I don't even get a little squeal out of them... and I have a 4X2 w/posi. Could it be because of my gearing?

Well right now I am have the stock rims on there for now... and I have 235/75-15 tires on there. I keep an eye on my tire pressure pretty good. There shouldnt anything restricting my power. I have flowmaster dual exhaust so that shold open it up a little and I should be getting a little more than stock power...

i don't know about auto's but my '00 QC 3.9 w/ 3.55 open & 235/75/15's will lite up that 1 wheel all day long. even in the heavy a55 QC it will chirp 3rd. even more so with the following mods: ported my 44mm TB, 180 T/stat, smaller crank pulley, IAT relocate,TPS set @ .75vdc, turbo muff. wait 'til i install the 1.7 RR's. it is by no means fast but has a lot of torque.

sorry for ramblin'

actually it should be easier w/ 3.92's. you may also want to check your O2 sensors. they will hurt mpg & perf. i luv my 5 spd

I thought as the gears got bigger it was harder to spin them... Shows how much I know lol. I am just going to have to bring it into the dealership.... I just got a new fuel pump, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, belt, and IAC motor. That is what they diagonosed last time i brought it in ... So I just brought it home and did all of that stuff myself. Just a few minutes ago I was driving home and as I went to turn the corner it just killed.... there was no warning signs at all.. It was running great... then as soon as I turned the wheel to turn it died... So I put it in neutral and and tried to start it... it started right up.... its so weird!!!

Try again , either you were too fast or too slow.
You should get at least a code 11
( no 'rotation ' crank sensor )
die on turn sounds like fuel pick-up problem
or , if you went down to idle = possible EGR
problem !
Have you noticed any drop in mpg yet ?

I think you are confused about the gears. Higher number = lower gears
