 Subject: Need Help.....Shift Kit Problems!!

OK...I let my dad look at the shift kit from
summitracing...he says he can do it in a few
hours but there is ONE problem He doesnt
want to drop the transmission to do it.
There are little orings in the top right part of the
picture that summit gives for this
application....My father says that those rings
go on the tranny pump and for him to change
those out, he will need to drop the tranny.
I heard that you dont have to drop the tranny
but just have the valve body off....if this is true
then what are the orings my dad is talking
about for....heres the site to see the pic....

You can just remove the Valve body.
You dont need to change the front seal "o" ring or pump shaft rings..
But accorrding to the instructions if You do not change the "o" ring or shaft rings you should not raise lock up pressure..
Have heard that most of the guys installing the shift kit.dont bother with the rings And all works well..

Are you sure? BTW why or what would be the absolute reason y and/or how does this helps out the shift kit?
Cause according to my dad if he puts it in for free he isnt droppin the tranny...but this is his second time to do this and he thinks it will be half azzed job? What are your opinions

You do not need to besides your trans was just
rebuilt,
Do all the valve body and shift servo valve work
you don't need to disasemble trans and install the
pump rings.
It will work just fine
instructions say change if trans is out if not
skip this and move on to next step
