Subject: Throttle Body and Cable IP: Logged
Message: I am cleaning my throttle body, IAC and doing other tune up stuff. Is there any sort of torque specs I need to wory about when I reconnect the TB?
Also, How do I remove the TB cable from the TB. does it just pull off. This is my daily driver and I don't/can't disable it for a day.

Message: Just squeeze the tabs and pull the cable out, you'll see it when you look at it. There probably are torque specs listed for it in the book but you don't really need to worry about torque on a throttle body just as long as you dont tighten it enough to snap it. Just hold the ratchet with one hand up by the head and crank it down and you will be good to go.

Message: Thanks.
I can not believe how nasty that throttle body was. A lot of carbon build up in there. The IAC looked terrible. A very nice layer of carbon at least 2mm thick covered the whole thing except on tiny little spot. After cleaning the TB and the IAC, the truck idles like the day I bought it. I have not had a chance to go drive it yet, but I am sure it will be much better. Next, new cap, rotor, wires, and 3923's.
