Permacool 16" 19115 + 19001 wiring kit is on its way. Does anyone have any advice for installation/wiring that have done this already?
Do the zip-ties work? What did you do with the shroud? Where did you mount the temp sensor? Etc....

How did this work out for you? Did you mount it in the stock shroud? or did you use that zip tie method? either way, how's it cooling? Any advise?

The zip ties are garbage. I wouldn't suggest this for anyone with the same rad that the '94 has (reservoirs on top and bottom rather than on either side). The zip tie installation is supposed to be ultimately supported by the cooling tubes. However, with a reservoir on top and bottom, the cooling tubes are vertical, not horizontal - so there is no support.
What I had to do is fabricate horizontal supports for the fan to attach to using the bottom shroud bolt holes and a convenient pair of holes up higher. I used strips of small U-channel (same stuff used for adjustable shelving) for the supports and then riveted the fan on. This made for a very sturdy fan.
I reused the shroud, because its used as the mounting for the overflow reservoir. I could have butchered it to use as the overflow mount, but I wanted to make sure that whatever I did was reversable in case I didn't get adequate cooling.
I had ordered the 170deg F sensor (non-adjustable) and have discovered that it is a POS. Do not....I repeat...do not buy this part. I dont know if Permacool has a better sensor or not, but this thing is frik'n useless. Its VERY slow to respond and is extremely difficult to mount flush on your return rad hose. I had to take another piece of hose, punch a hole in it for the sensor, then zip-tie wrap it around the return hose in order to get it to lie flush. Now the only problem is the speed at which it senses. As a test, I dipped it in boiling water (200 deg F) and it still took about a minute before the sensor switched on.
Now with it all installed I'm finding a HUGE difference in power and acceleration. Fuel economy is WAY up (extra 100km per tank). But keep in mind that my old flex fan was starting to seize on me.
As far as cooling goes....I dunno.....the truck has never gotten hot enough to require a fan. I do mostly highway driving and it has only been about 12 deg C here.
I'd do this mod again in a heart beat, but I think I would pay the extra $$ and go with the Black Magic 150.
