Message: The sending unit in the gas tank should only provide gas guage readings - not cause the truck to stall. I'd wait on that. I'm not sure on a DAK - but on most Chrysler vehicles of that era you can "scan" the engine computer for free. cycle your ignition switch on/off/on/off/on (3X - leaving it on the last time) the check engine light should start to flash after a few seconds. it will blink a few times, then pause, blink again. count the blinks. for example:
blink, blink, pause, blink blink blink longer pause is a code 23. (and no, that's not "bling bling")
get back to us with the codes and we can decipher them. My 87 Shadow & 88 LeBaron use this system. not sure if the Daks do. my fuel injection book from that era is at a friends' house. I'm sorry if yours doesn't use this system - not trying to put you on a goose chase
