I have a 99 dakota 3.9L. i just got a cheap cone air filter from wall-mart and installed it on the stock system where the air box was. my question is, if i take off the hose going to the airbox and put the filter directly on the round plastic piece on top of the fuel injection, will i get better performance? If not what do you think would be the best set up for the truck? thanks for any help.

look up a home brew intake and do that. putting the filter on ur airhat wouldent do very much for u seeing that it would just be sucking in hot air. im getting a hint that u dont wana spend cash on a cai from a company so just build 1 urself
