Message: I got mine hooked up to come on when my parking lights are turned on.
You are going to need to get a swith from radio shack.
it should have 12v+ in 12v out, ground and a activation.
just wire the activation to something that is powered on when your dak is turned on. I just have the activation wire running to inside fuse box.

Message: I would recommend you use a relay also. Use any positive wire that is a constant power lead when the engine is on and run it to the proper terminal of the relay for the 'on/off' switch. Then you connect a direct line from the battery to the constant power terminal of the relay [making sure to install a fuse of the proper size] and a constant ground. Run a wire from the switched pole of the relay to the headlights. I wouldn't use anything less than 12 guage for the main power and grounds from the relay.
The reason for all of this is that the fog lights work best this way. They are the brightest they will be. If you try to power them off a general switched power line they will not burn as bright and whatever that line goes to won't work as well because it isn't getting enough amps of current. If you use the relay the small amp draw that trips the relay and allows the power to go from the battery to the fog lights probably won't adversly affect whatever component is connected to that line.
Wiring accessory back-up lights running off the reverse lights versus the above relay-actuated system proved the value of this system. The accessory back-up lights are 2 times as bright as they were the other way, and the reverse lights are the same. Before, I had them all off the same power line and the reverse lights, combined with the accessory back up lights, were less bright when BOTH were on than the reverse lights had been before I installed the others.
Use a relay for maximum brightness.

Message: i would just wire them to the fuse block to come on when the key is turned on, but you could also do like they said too. just make sure you use a fuse no matter what you do
