 Subject: Oil Pressure

I have a 97 V6 2wd. The oil pressure gage drops to 0 when I slow for a stop, then picks back up shortly after. Right hand turns affect it too. I just replaced my sending unit, but still have the same problem. So is it my oil pump, or the pick-up screen, or both? what else could cause this?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but when my truck did that the main bearings were shot.

I agree with sawdust, bad bottom end, you need new main bearings.

I had the exact same problem. I had also replaced the sending unit and pump. But had problems after. I acutally had to get my engine flushed to get gunk that built up in there out. Try that first. It should only cost about 40 bucks at a mechanic or lube shop. For me, it did the trick.
