Subject: Gas Mileage... IP: Logged
Message: This is no lie, I get 9-10 miles to the gallon. For the first few months, I figured it had to break in or something, but there has been no improvement. I put about 160 miles a week on my truck and every Friday, I put about 16-17 gallons of gas in my truck. Unless I really have been out of school for too long and, as a result, seriously have a math deficiency leading to me not being able to divide 160 by 16 correctly, I would say that's 10 miles to the gallon and that's just ridiculous.

Message: dude I got that same problem, I average 140 miles per fillup. v6, 15s, digital trip, kinda heavy foot, I drive on a freeway(70mph) to school every day, but that shouldn't affect my mpf(fillup) that much should it??

Message: I barely accelerate hard. I have a tonneau cover and I have the Tire/Handling package (that's 265/70/16's).
Most of the roads I drive are around 40-45 mph and it's in overdrive just cruising along. With an occasional downshift to 3rd when I need to speed up, but most of the time, it's just cruising in OD.

Message: I was told that the TBI spacer doesn't work. Bernd did some dyno tests with it and it absolutely made no difference. I have a friend that put one on his 3.9 '01 Dak and he didn't see any difference. With all the mods, the best you'll ever get is maybe 19 to 20 mpg hwy. On a good day. Greg

Message: I am really disappointed over the milage I am getting with my V6. Roughly 12-13 mpg. The whole reason I bought this truck was the V6. I knew that it would reasonable horsepower and thinking, V6, ATLEAST 18-19 mpg in the city. WRONG answer.
When I bought the truck, I was getting 8-9, so the tune up helped alot....atleast I am not stopping at the local petro store every 3 days.

Message: I have a 92 CC 2WD, got pretty good gas mileage until I put Wilderness ATs on, P235/75R15s and then it went downhill, it still has it's days. One day while going on vacation I went 405 miles to my 17gal. and my speedos off by 5 mph at highway speeds. But once while doing a lot of driving in town I got 120 miles to a tank. But my average is about 300-315 with 75% on highway.

Loaded heavy (2000-2500lbs,I have two extra leaves on each side) I get 16-18 mpg. Empty and driven smart (not often I admit) I can get 23-25 on interstates. Empty and driven for fun I'm still at 16-18. You just gotta pay to play.

Message: I have the 22 gallon tank on my truck. I can drive this truck like a little old lady or drive it like Jeff Gordon. Still don't make no difference. 12-13 mpg is all I get out of out a gallon. Figures are based on resetting the trip, driving truck, 242 miles later and 19.23 gallons of gas equals 12.58 miles to the gallon. My K&N filter should be here in the next 2 days and I have the pipe, clamps, and rubber coupler to put a "better" cold air intake on so I HOPE that I will atleast get 2 more miles to the gallon...notice the word "HOPE" in there....
