 Subject: Fuel tank size

I have a 99 SLT CC and im wondering what size gas tank these trucks came with.I thought i only had a 15 gallon tank.But about a week ago i ran it to the red and it took a little over 16 gallons of gas.What other options came for it?
And what kind of miles are you guys geting to the tank?I get about 150-200 depending on where i get my gas and mostly its around the 150 miles if i use reg. 87.Gas prices are geting to high and im just wondering if this is what everyone is geting.Thanks for any help

My 97 Dak has the optional 22 gal. tank. Standard for 97 was 18 gal.

My '91 has the 22 gal. tank, with no mods I get anywhere from 13 mpg(worst) to 20 (best) mpg. It's a 5-speed, 8' bed, 2 wheel drive. Running around town w/o the AC on maybe 15-16 and interstate only driving 19-20 mpg. 87 octane only, no pinging so no need to upgrade in my opinion.

My 1999 2wd Sport was supposed to have a 15gallon tank and i've never been able to put over 12.5 in it. don't know what that's about. Been meaning to ask the dealer, but i always forget.

My '97 has a 20 gallon tank in it. The most I have ever put in it was 18.5 gallons. I get around 20 on the highway, so I am around 360 miles before I fuel up. When towing, I am down around 15, so I only get around 250 before I fuel.

I only get aroun to 275 on my tank before I full up, but then again I shift at aroun 3500 rpm's, but I would like to know if you all did anything especially you "daddio" to get those many miles outa your truck.
00 3.9 extended cab

haven't done anything special. ported my own TB, bosch 3229 platinum plugs, relocated IAT, adjusted tps, 180 T/stat and an el cheapo cherry bomb turbo II muffler. haven't even changed the cap, wires & rotor yet. getting between 18 & 20 mpg a tank depends where & how i drive the truck.
i wanna see what happens when i put in my crower 1.7 rr's.

I have a 97 Dak with a 22 gallon tank. I get aroun d 220 mile per tank! I guess that averages out to about 10mpg. The only mod done so far is Dual exhaust cat-back.
