When did you guys start doing mod's to your ride? Was it when your warranty was expired or did you start it once you got it? I have 55,000 miles on mine and want to start doing mod's on it right now but wondering if i should wait
Thanks.

I did my first mods today!!! I just baught the truck about a month ago. It is a 99 3.9L 4x4 CC with 100,000 miles on it. I just put on a K&N cold air, S bolt, and adjusted my TPS sensor. I hope to be getting a bigger TB soon and some 1.7 RR's.

Dennis... there are a lot of mods you can do now that won't void your warranty. But for some, you may wanna wait because they will void your warranty and I don't think you'd wanna do that. I think most "bolt-on" mods won't void it, but stuff that gets into the internal parts will.

It really doesn't matter. it all depends on the condition of the motor. you don't want to go adding parts to a motor with more than say 130,000 miles because you really will not see that much of a difference. I am waiting to rebuild mine then put a whole bunch of parts on. Also. to get gains. the parts need to work together. You would not put in a cam with a high rpm gain with a tb that gains power at low rpm. you need to do a lot of research before you start adding parts.

I started putting mods on mine when the stock parts wore out.
I just replaced the stockers with aftermarket stuff.
the normal exhuast, tires, intake, bigger TB, bigger cat (my brother is a police officer so I have to be legal... otherwise more would be done)
was going to do the 1.7RR but trading in the truck.
I started with about 80,000 miles

Shoot, since your brother is a cop, shouldn't it be the other way around and you could get away with more? lol
