Subject: MSD Tach addition???

Message:
Hi, I've been having so much internet mumbo jumbo problems here lately that I'm almost afraid to try and look this up through all of the history post... I had to try 13 times just to get on it this time so I'm sorry for not being able to bring up the old thread and restart it... So here's my question... I know a while back someone on here, "think it was sicminds, but not really sure about that one", mentioned getting pretty good improvements out of their msd6amp ignition setup by adding the tachometer huckup to it, so where do I get one of these and how much of an improvement will I see??? I currentlty am going to be running the 8mm wire set that comes with the 6amp msd ignition set up from krc... Is also suppost to come with brass cap and rotor button, I think... I also got the blaster coil to go along with that and after looking forever around here only to find them at wall-mart "go figure" the ap3923 plugs that will be gapped at .060" as advised by Larry... Haven't gotten the parts from krc or hughes yet, so haven't been able to get my engine back together, was kinda hoping to get them today... Maybe tomorrow, "I hope"...

So bassically how much more performance can I expect and where do I get one... Any specific application version with the above setup???

Thanks in advance,
Greg

Summit and Jeg's both have the tach adapter. I am not sure how it helps, Larry posted on it a couple of times. Anyway, hope this helps you a little.

Just start with MSD if you do not get a coil
system troubble code you don't need the tach
adapter.

Getting this mil light will make your truck run
on the last known tables until you shut down and
restart your truck than the learning curve is back
until you get the light again and will effect perf
a little not real noticeable untill you fix this
prob than you will notice a little better perf
after a few hundred miles they run better

A 2 to 500 mile learn with no mil light will give
you a good running motor.

So bassically this really doesn't help all that much??? With my luck here lately, I'm sure I'll have 2 or 3 thousand of those nice mil lights come on go off and come back on a few more times :(( I thought someone on here had said that they saw great improvements with it... Oh well I guess...

Thanks Again,
Greg
