I have an 01 CC 2wd Dakota 3.9 auto. It now has 52,000 miles on it. Recently when I first start out as I give it a little gas I get a strange groaning noise, sounds drivetrain related. Sounds like its coming from the firewall area, I think possible tranny noise. Just curious if anyone has had the same and the solution.

I have the same problem on my 95 dakota slt 4x4. it sucks Does it make the noise only when you put it in gear?

does it sound like tranny whine? lots of auto trannys do it when it is cold out.
