I ordered some Taylor 8mm plug wires recently. I was looking at them and didn't know if the part that connects to the plug (not exactly sure of the name) would fit how the stock wires did because of the metal "sleve" that comes up along the plug and up some on the wire. The wires that I got from KRC won't fit do to this "sleve" and didn't know if i there was a way to remove the sleve or just get different plug wires. Hope this makes some sort of sence. Thanks for any help.

Matt

The metal sleeves if your lucky can be removed fairly easily... All you have to do is take out the plug then take a pair of pliers or vise grips and twist on the sleeves to remove them... They tend to be quite a tight fit on some cylinders... I had one on each head that required some negotiating on... They required a little beating of the hammer and then twisting out... May even want try some lubricant...

MSD 8.5 super conductor wires for same year dak
with 5.2, you will have 2 wires left but a perfict
fit.

There is no reason to remove the metal protector
sleve, it isolates the plug and wire from excesive
exhaust manifold heat

I run the 8mm Taylor wires on my 97 Dak and they fit just fine. Like them a lot.
