Subject: Idle Problem IP: Logged
Message: Ok, its a 99 Auto 68k miles, and i was wanting to know if it was normal for it to idle 5-7rms, it gos between that. And when i put it in park aftre driving it awhile it will drop to 3 or 4rpms.Is any of this normal or is something wrong?
I had the truck fixed by a friend of my dads. The hose from the water pump to the intake was leaking and he replaced that for me, and put i new belt on.But since then it has been having this idle and before i took it to him i could spin the tires from i stop with no problems. Now i can hardly get it to spin 'em around a corner.
Any help to this would be great...
Thanks

Message: I would just ask the guy who worked on it "in person" what exactly he did or messed with while he was working on it... It really sounds like something is wrong somewhere...

Message: If he unhooked the battery, which im sure he did, then its going through its idle learn phase. It will act like that for 20-30 miles or so until the computer has time to re-learn the idle settings. As far as loss of power not sure on that one, just make sure everything is hooked up
