Hey guys,
I have read alot of your replies about spark plugs.. right now i am running champion truck plugs, they are only a year old or so and i was wondering how much i could really pick up from running the autolite 3923's? and what gap should i run..stock coil.. i would really appreciate any help as i am on a quest to improve my gas mileage...13mpg isnt cutting it.

Try the AP3923 plat tip at .040 .045 and see how
it reacts all trucks are diff

get some cold air to the TB by removing the flap
infront of the intake tube by the radiator sadle
and a drop in K&N and your mileage should improve
also better throttle response

Also sounds like you need to replace your o2
sensor 13 is unreasonably low

Did you replace both o2 sensors or just the one infront of or behind the cat??? Some daks even have 4 of the little exspensive things... How about your distributor cap and rotor... You would be surprised how much that will help:)) Esspecially on the dodges for some reason... Fuel injectors??? How smooth does your engine run??? Bog down easy??? What year and mileage??? What kind of oils are you using??? Lots of things could help from the sound of it... BUT really sounds like something is wrong somewhere...

Interesting...I'm running 3923's(45 gap, I believe),Napa cap&rotor, MSD wires,K&N drop-in,180 Stat,Gibson single out Cat-back,Sportsmaster Tonneau cover and a Lund Backdraft spolier..In town I'm avg 15, on road MAYBE 19.5. 00Kota,36k Miles, Amsoil Fluids, Auto Trans w/add-on cooler tied in with stock cooler. Think the move to AP3923's would do anything?(other than lighten my wallet)

There would not be much change but you should drop
the gap on the reg plugs back to .040 unless they
are running nice and tan than leave them

Do the crank sensor mod and you will notice better
gas mileage and low end power by advancing the
timing 3 to 4 degree's

Thanks for the reply's, ill try that crank sensor this spring, 3 ft of snow and college keeps me from doing it right now.. as for your questions greg, i put a new cap and rotor on about a year ago, brand new wires and the engine runs smooth as silk. Its a 93 with 120000 on it. i wouldnt say it bogs down, but it could use an extra kick for these houghton hills. by the way the o2 is less then a yr old. im going to go pull a plug today and check the color, ill try and get back with that...thanks guys

Northern wisconsin, upper michigan border in the
snow belt.

reg 3923 gap at .040
AP3923 plat tip run .045
with the stock ign and coil

If you hav'nt already also remove the flap in
front of the air tube to get more cold air in
just pull the mount off than remove the flap and
put the mount and hose back on, it will help
gas mileage and throttle response as will just a
drop in K&N filter, the systems on the 93 is a
type of cold air setup but the flap cuts it way
down.

removing this flap and doing the sensor mod and
the 3923's reg or plat tip, you will notice the
improvement right away and after a few hundred
miles even more

Beleave it or not on dyno runs on some trucks the
3923 showed 4 to 5 hp gain at the wheels over the
stock champs.

But not all trucks will react the same
