Message: daddio: the factory manual cautions against removing the heat shields. It says that the heat from the exhaust manifold is too great. I don't know of they are right but why risk it.

Message: thanks xmr. for now i won't. if i ever do i would use some other type of shield i could use on the spark plug wire boot. i've seen this sheathing around in different sizes. some type of asbestos or some other cloth.
