Subject: Distributor Access IP: Logged
Message: I'm not sure if any of you have experience with the Rams, but on my 3.9, the distributor is on the back of the engine (no surprise!), but the engine is placed so far back in the engine compartment that the bottom of the winshield is actually ahead of it, and the resulting overhang makes it almost impossible to even tell that there is a distributor there! I was wondering if anyone had any hints or experience with this to make working under there any easier. For instance, there is no way I can get above the rotor to view straight down and see if it is indexed correctly or not. Even removing the cap and rotor for inspection seems almost impossible. My Haynes manual is no help, since they always pull the engine to work on it.
Any insight would be much appreciated.
Thanks guys.

Message: Thanks Jon,
I figured it was going to come to that. Doesn't give me a lot of confidence though. Anyways, we'll see what happens!
